Desktop Graphic

When creating the image I considered two programs, Paint Shop Pro 7 and Microsoft Paint. The program I chose was Microsoft Paint. The reason I chose this program is because I am so familiar with it. I am still in the process of figuring out Paint Shop Pro. Also, I wasn't going to create any moving imagery, so Paint Shop Pro wasn't really necessary. I am unsatisfied with the lack of clarity of the image. The file type is JPEG. the size is 21.8 KB (22,365 bytes). The program that opens it is Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, however, I can change this. I acquired the image from http://www.mypyramid.gov/. I know that when I am teaching, I will rely heavily on technology. So, most likely, I will incorporate images into almost everything I teach. For example math, I will use images instead of only using numbers, graphs, charts, pies, and so on. I will use images for inspiration when writing and comprehension when learning. When teaching geography, students can create images of the states or create legends on maps.

Still Images --Reading

I completed the reading assignment and published my paper using google documents. I found the reading very interesting and it is funny how we take things at face value instead of doing the research ourselves.

Who Are you Again?

Wellllll....Thanks to William Wiseman for giving me some advice on my photo story. This time I downloaded photo story and made a movie I am much happier with. This movie has captions and music. I also linked my youtube and google accounts. I used the html gadget to post the movie onto this blogger. Off to other things...ttfn

Who am I? A Success Story

Okay, so I decided to use windows movie maker for my movie. It wasn't too difficult. I published it on the web through mydeo. I am a little disappointed because I wanted html code or someway to post the actual video on my blog, but at this point I think I am only going to have a link. Another trouble I had was I thought I was placing captions on each slide, but when the video was published the captions weren't included. Here is the link

FTP

I have used my FTP site in the past. I was previously introduced to it in Instructional Technology I. I think it is very useful and more convenient then a flash drive. For this assignment, I did drop a document from my desktop to my FTP site. I always find it a little difficult to access the document in a web browser, but after a few attempts I finally did it. The document is a list of get acquainted activities I had to do for another class.

Who Am I---At this point I dont know haha

I am having a little trouble making my self intro video. I have the photos selected, but I am not sure at exactly how to go about putting my video together. I have spent hours trying to figure out exactly what to do. I am checking with some of my peers who have already completed this project and will update later.

Resume

I have web published my current resume using google documents. I was actually surprised as to how easy the process was. You can access it by clicking on the resume link or my selecting this address.

Blogger

I have really put some time and effort into my blogger. I have added gadgets (picture, link, html, i.e.,). I have also added a song "So What" by Pink and a slide show. I changed the font color and rearranged things a little. I think it corresponds with the rubric, but will do some more fine tuning at a later date.

Surveys

I had problems with filling out the survey and actually had to do it more then once. I don't think I submitted it the first time and was surprised to see that the list that Dr. Pierce conveyed didn't include my name. The course activities list is listing 2 beginning surveys and I am almost positive I have only filled out 1. I will need to check with him to see if I am missing one.

Skype

I set up my Skype account which was actually less complicated then what I believed it was going to be. I think it is pretty neat that you can actually call anyone form your computer. I have previously heard of Skype. I believe it was on Yahoo and I think there was a fee involved. My test call was successful, as well as adding Dr. Pierce as my contact. My first call to Dr. Pierce was also successful. I added my picture to my Skype profile.
